The quest for truth.
We are all on our own quest for the truth. The question 'What am I' echo's through our heads. Somehow we do understand the signals that 'this' is not what we are, otherwise we wouldn't feel the need for this quest.
Out of this small insight, you can also see that apparently, there is a part in you that already knows exactly what you are and is telling you: This is not it.
So, the next question possible comes up, how can I be certain that I know and still not being sure about what I am?
The answer on this is actually quite simple once you understand the following principle:
Truth needs no defending only un-truth does. What is true is true always.
If you are 100% certain about something, there will be no need to defend somebody's statement that says otherwise. (small example, somebody says your dog is a bird)
So now that we know that truth is silent and does not feel the need to defend itself, we can also see that the voice in our head, that is screaming and reasoning everything to prove that it knows everything, can not be the truth.
The real you knows this and it does guide you to the right way of thinking through feelings of happiness, bliss and inner peace. Learn to trust these feelings as your guidence to the truth and you will find it sooner than expected.
This oneliner helped me a lot during this inside investigation/navigation:
What is true is true always, only love is real.
